Note new times!!
Thank you so much to all the parents who came and helped us on both our trips. We couldn’t have done it without you!
This term we need to remember a hat to protect ourselves at playtimes. If we don’t have a hat we have to stay in the shade.
Maths – We will be continuing to look at the measurement of time this week. I have lots of clocks and clock stamps ready for the week!
Reading – I am very proud of the children in B2 our reading just goes from strength to strength. We continue to work with our smoothness and comprehension. It is very important that we know what we are reading about.
Word work – We will be looking at the blend sound made by ‘ll’. For example, a spell.
Inquiry – We will be looking at the ‘Keeping Ourselves Safe’ programme this week. It is important that our children know how to keep themselves from harm and understand how they should be treated. You should all have received an email about this a few weeks ago.
Writing - We will now be incorporating wow words into our writing. Some children will also be looking at different ways to start a sentence. This all helps to make our writing more interesting.
Te Reo Maori – We will be learning how to say some simple body parts in Maori to link with our Inquiry.
School Values – ORCA – The symbol of the orca is very important to Whangaparaoa School and is carried with us everywhere, every day on our uniform.
Each letter of the ORCA stands for a different value:
O – Ownership
R – Respect
C – Collaborate
A – Achieve
We continue looking at these values and how we can take them on board in our classroom.
Home books – Please continue to read and learn your spellings at home. Please try to remember to bring in your home books every day, thank you.
Library day is Tuesday
Sharing news is on Monday and Friday
Remember your hats!
Many thanks for your continued support.
