Please could we have all the ponchos in for the children this week.

This term we need to remember a hat to protect ourselves at playtimes. If we don’t have a hat we have to stay in the shade.

Maths – We will be doing lots of number bond and basic fact work to finish off the year. We are looking at place value and number identification.

Reading – I will be carrying out reading assessments over the next few weeks. Please could you check at home for any reading books that have not yet been returned.

Word work – We will be reviewing all the sounds we have looked at over the year and using them in our writing.

Inquiry – Our inquiry will now concentrate on our forth-coming Christmas Show. Thank you to everyone who has already brought in a poncho – they look fabulous! If everyone could have them in by Friday 1st December I would be most grateful.

Writing – We will be writing, writing and writing! There are still many things we can all do to make our writing even better. We will be continuing to use strategies learnt over the past year.

Te Reo Maori – Christmas greetings and useful words will be looked at over the next few weeks.

School Values – ORCA – The symbol of the orca is very important to Whangaparaoa School and is carried with us everywhere, every day on our uniform.

Each letter of the ORCA stands for a different value:
O – Ownership
R – Respect
C – Collaborate
A – Achieve
We continue looking at these values and how we can take them on board in our classroom.

Home books – Please continue to read and learn your spellings at home. Please try to remember to bring in your home books every day, thank you.

Library day is Tuesday – no more books to be issued this term.

Sharing news is on Monday and Friday

Remember your hats!

Many thanks for your continued support.

Libby, Simone and the children of B2
